INTERBOLSA is responsible for the organization and management of Securities Settlement Systems in order to ensure, namely, the transfers of money associated with the transfers of securities or inherent rights and guarantees regarding operations over securities.

Since March 2016, INTERBOLSA, as a Central Securities Depository (CSD), participates in the TARGET2-Securities (T2S) platform for the provision of securities settlement services to its Participants in central bank money.

The payments in currencies other than the euro not accepted by the T2S platform continue to be processed by sending payment instructions to SPME operated by Caixa Geral de Depósitos.

The Participants in the Securities Settlement Systems are the Financial Intermediaries affiliated to INTERBOLSA and other entities that, under the terms of the law and the regulations in force, may assume the status of affiliated, which ensure the physical and financial settlement of transactions carried out on a regulated market and in multilateral trading system, as well as the operations carried out outside the market.

Settlement of transactions executed in regulated markets and multilateral trading facilities (MTFs).

Settlement of movements between accounts of the same and of different Participants.

Settlement of Special Operations.

Settlement of over-the-counter (OTC) transactions.


Financial settlement regarding the exercise of rights inherent to the securities registered or deposited in the Central Securities Depository.

Settlement of Cross-CSD Operations.

Settlement of transactions in the framework of securities lending transactions through SGE – the securities lending management system made available by INTERBOLSA to its Participants .

Processing of the corresponding financial settlement in the cash accounts of the Participants opened in the T2S platform, for payments in euros and in the cash accounts open in the Non-Euro Currency Settlement System Payment (SPME) for payment in other currencies different from euro.
